How to Apply for an Interim Driving License

An Interim Driving License is the document one pays for and receives after passing the Driving License Test. Before one can apply for a driving license, one needs to first have the interim DL for the time being and it is valid usually for one year. Within this period the individual can now apply for the Smart Driving License or renew the 1 year virtual DL. In this article, we share how to apply for an Interim Driving License using eCitizen.

The Interim Driving License allows one to drive the vehicle under classes outlined in the Interim. The interim is paid for about Kshs. 1,050 and comes after having the PDL for 3 months plus and after passing the driving test. The procedure is easy to follow as long as the details are available on the NTSA Portal on eCitizen.
