How to Apply for Inter-University Transfer through KUCCPS

Many students have been waiting for their chance to shift to the programmes that they prefer under government sponsorship through KUCCPS. Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service placed students to different universities in May 2024. And some of them were placed into universities that they did not prefer or the courses they didn’t want. The period for the applications for university transfer has been opened. The transfer applications will run for a period of 30 days until 4th July 2024. In this article we offer procedural guidance on how to apply for inter-university transfers on KUCCPS.

Were placed in a programme you had not idea about or a program you never chose? This is the time to consider making that switch to a different program in the same institution or different institution. Preferably the body prefers students to do Inter-University transfer applications through KUCCPS. The inter-faculry transfer can be done at the universities themselves. KUCCPS has opened the applications and the procedure is just simple even much simpler than the first and second revision of courses.

Requirements to Apply for Inter-University transfer through KUCCPS

Before one can apply for transfer, there is some information and details that are required. Additionally there are qualifications too for specific courses that one should consider transferring to. Something to note, try avoiding big universities if your qualifications are not so high you might be disappointed. The requirements include: –

• KCSE index number
• KCPE index number/birth certificate number usually the KUCCPS password
• The 7 digit course code for the course you want to pursue in the university of choice
• Internet of course a stable one for that matter
• Application fee of Kshs. 1,000 payable online before submission of the inter-institution transfer

How to Apply for Inter-institution Transfer Online – Procedure on KUCCPS

Follow the steps outlined below to be able to submit your online course transfer through KUCCPS.

• Visit the KUCCPS Student Portal account through this link provided here.
• Click on Login and process to enter KCSE index number, year of examination and the password in this case KCPE index number or birth certificate number
• Click on Login to access the KUCCPS student portal Dashboard.
• On the menu look for the menu item Transfer Applications and click on it
• Once loaded it will display Transfers Dashboard.
• Click on Transfer Applications to display existing transfer application or to be able to submit a fresh Inter-University transfer
• In Part 1 enter the 7 digit programme or course code as listed on KUCCPS website. Make sure that you meet the clusters
• The next page will ask for the reason as to why you wish to change the course. Select your reason and attach support documents if asked to do so. Once done click on Click Here to Pay to be redirected to Pesaflow for payment
• Complete the payment through M-PESA and click on Complete. Note down the account number
• Enter the payment reference number alias account number and click on Submit Application.
• If prompted for password to submit the application enter the KCPE index number and your application is saved for Endorsement by receiving institution, releasing institution, and approval by KUCCPS.
