UHR is the Universal Human Resource system that aims at managing the government employees and also rendering their payslips and P9 forms. UHR is different compared to GHRIS it is fully responsive on mobile as well where GHRIS wasn’t. The UHR system is not fully complete as some services are still missing on the UHR Payslip portal. In this article, we outlined steps on how to change UHR Payslip Password online and for free.

Occasionally people do forget password for the UHR payslips portal. And when one does that they cannot be able to get the payslip or P9 especially when people are filing their kra returns. The system allows Kenyan employees in the government parastatals to get a glimpse of the deductions on their payslips. Individuals can download and print their payslips and also the kra P9 form usually at the end of the year all the way to June. The system also allows downloading previous payslips and P9 for the other years.

Requirements to Reset UHR Payslip Password

Before you can change the GHRIS password you need the following information. Any wrong information will not allow you to change the password to one of your choice. The password resetting on UHR does not use the OTP like for the case of TPAY or DPAY for those under Defence. You need the following information.

  • Personal Number
  • KRA PIN No
  • Surname
  • Date of Birth
  • Date of First Appointment
  • Terms of Employment i.e. Probation, Permanent & Pensionable, Local Contract etc
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • New password

How to change UHR Payslip Password Online

The procedure is as follows. It is simple and can be done on the phone as well. All you need is outlined above and you can follow the steps below.

  • Open the UHR Payslip portal using uhr.kenya.go.ke
  • Once loaded click on Forgot Password? Reset in GHRIS
  • On the next page provide the Personal Number, ID Number, KRA PIN number, Surname and wait for the system to display the named and department
  • Proceed to fill in the next details such as date of birth, gender, date of first Appointment, and fill the Next details.
  • The last field requires entering the new password and repeating the same.
  • Once done click on Submit. The system will display that the password has been changed successfully if you provided the correct details especially the date of birth and date of first Appointment.
