How to check monetization eligibility for profiles

Facebook has enabled the monetization of reels and videos shared on Facebook profiles in Kenya. The opportunity comes at such a time when the government is trying to take credit for the entire process. Public Figures and other individuals who have met the monetization requirements can earn from Facebook. In this article, we share how to check monetization eligibility for profiles on Facebook.

Facebook Monetization is available for pages and individual profiles. A person who has a profile provided they have turned on professional mode can earn through Facebook. How does one know that they have met and are eligible for monetization when it comes to Facebook profiles? We outline the process and how to check your eligibility to make some money from Meta.

Profiles can earn money from their content if they have professional mode turned on and if they meet Facebook’s Partner Monetisation Policies.

To find out if your profile is eligible, you must have professional mode turned on.

  1. Go to the professional dashboard on mobile.
  2. Go to Tools to try.
  3. Select Monetisation.

From here, you will be able to see monetisation programmes and professional tools available in professional mode.

  • If your profile is eligible for a monetisation tool, when you select a tool (for example: Stars), you will see prompts to set it up.
  • If your profile is not eligible for monetisation, Not yet eligible will appear above the list of monetisation tools. Note: Click on an individual tool to see criteria that must be met in order to use it.

If you can’t see monetisation programmes under Tools to try, you may reside in a country where monetisation is not yet available.
