The Government gave a direct to follow when making payments for NSSF contributions. There’s even a portal specifically for handling NSSF contributions using Citizen. However, it is not a MUST that you be logged into your eCitizen to proceed. Apart from individuals who are voluntary or for companies, they can pay directly through M-PESA as outlined here. But again they can also make NSSF contributions using the eCitizen portal through the NSSF Digital payments.
In this article, we will let you know how to access the NSSF Digital Payment portal through eCitizen or directly through the portal link. The payments this way will be easier as you will just receive a prompt for PIN for the NSSF payments. Additionally, there are requirements to be able to handle the payments using eCitizen for NSSF contributions even using a phone or PC.
Requirements to make NSSF Contributions through eCitizen Online
To make payments for NSSF through eCitizen, the procedure is simple but then there are requirements to be able to do that through the online portal. The amount will be credited to eCitizen but linked to your NSSF number. Also, employers can still pay through this means using the NSSF Digital Portal.
- NSSF Number for voluntary members online
- UPN – Unified Payment Number generated through the Payroll Payment Processing on the NSSF portal for employers ONLY
- Amount to Pay
- NSSF Digital Portal – https://nssfdigital.enssf.co.ke/home.payment or accessed through eCitizen
How to make NSSF Contributions through NSSF Digital Payments Portal/eCitizen
To be able to make NSSF payments freely online, use the procedure outlined below using the NSSF Digital Payments and eCitizen Paybill for Payment.
- Go to eCitizen on your phone or PC or use the M-PESA app and find a Mini-app called NSSF
- Login to eCitizen using your login credentials and click on View All Agencies and search NSSF. Click on it and you will be directed to NSSF Digital Payments Portal – https://nssfdigital.enssf.co.ke/home.payment
- Once loaded, you will be displayed with two options for Voluntary Contribution and Employer Payment
- For voluntary NSSF members click on Voluntary Contribution and enter your NSSF number. For Employers click on Employer Payment and enter the UPN – Unified Payment Number from the generated payment slip. Click on Validate
- Enter the Amount you wish to pay and click on Make Payment, you will be redirected to a payment page with payment details and how to pay. You can use M-PESA or any other provided options.
