- Member ID Number
- Amount to pay
- eCitizen M-PESA paybill number 222222
- The penalties payment account number i.e. NHIFP-ID NUMBER
Procedure on How to pay NHIF penalties using M-PESA thanks to eCitizen
The NHIF shifted from its previous paybill 200222 that individuals were used to and shifted to the government Paybill of 222222. This was a directive by the government and now all NHIF payments should be channeled to eCitizen Paybill number.
- Go to SIM Toolkit on your Phone
- Tap on M-PESA option or just use the M-PESA app
- Select the Lipa na M-PESA option from the options displayed.
- Select Paybill option to be able to pay the NHIF penalties
- In the Paybill field key in the eCitizen paybill number 222222
- For the account number for paying the NHIF penalties use NHIFP-ID Number for example if your ID number is 12345678 the account number would be NHIFP-12345678
- Enter the amount you wish to pay for the penalties and enter your M-PESA pin
- Confirm that payment is being made to eCitizen and submit the transaction.
