The KRA PIN is a unique tax identification number that is issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority to monitor and manage individual taxes and keep track of taxpayers. How to Register a KRA PIN Online for Free

  • Open your Browser
  • In the browser window, type in the kra itax portal link or simply click https://itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/
  • Once loaded, just below the field for User ID or PIN, located the Do you want to apply for KRA PIN, click on the link below it
  • Once loaded select Taxpayer type ad Individual and mode of registration online and click on Next
  • Select Citizenship as Kenyan and select the profession i.e. student for students etc
  • Enter the ID number and Date of Birth and proceed to fill in the address i.e. physical address, county, district and locality
  • Key in the postal address and postal code and town. Next enter the phone number and email address and request for an OTP to be sent to the email to confirm that the email is valid. Check the email and enter the OTP you received below the email field
  • Fill in any other details and click on Next. Select the obligation as Income Tax Resident Individual and date pick today’s date (current date)
  • Proceed to Next and under Source of Select No all through. On the last page do not fill anything but just enter the security stamp for spam check and click on submit.
  • A pin will be generated and displayed on the page for downloading. Another copy sent to the registered email address
