National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is the medical insurance run by the government that allows members to contribute monthly and access treatment. Requirements to Register NHIF Number Online or via NHIF Selfcare Portal
- ID card for the principal contributor
- Passport Photo of the applicant, spouse and children if any
- Personal Details such as Names, ID number, date of birth, area of residence, address and nearest NHIF office.
- Email address and valid phone number
- ID card for spouse and birth certificates for legal children.
How to Register NHIF Number Online (The Procedure)
- Open your device browser, it can be Chrome or any other you prefer. It can be on PC or Smartphone
- For Smartphone and PC users, open the address bar and key in the NHIF website – https://nhif.or.ke and click on Register. You can access the NHIF registration link here – https://registeronline.nhif.or.ke/
- Fill the required information on the page.
- Scan copies of your ID and passport photo. Upload the two in the spaces provided and crop the photo into the size you want. Click on Submit to register NHIF online
- Using USSD: For those without smartphones or PCs, simply open your phone dial *155#, and follow the prompts that come to be able to register NHIF number
- Using myNHIF app – those who wish to Register with the app can download it from the Google Play Store and proceed to register their NHIF number online.
