DCI is the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and any Kenyan wishing to seek employment in some departments is required to have the police clearance. The police clearance is at times called the Good Conduct Certificate. Teachers also need the police clearance to apply for TSC numbers as well. Safaricom also requires M-PESA agents to submit this document to prove they don’t have any criminal records against them. In this article you will learn how to renew police clearance certificate online on eCitizen
Renewal of Police Clearance Certificate is not different from first time applicants. The procedure for renewal and application are all the same since in each scenario fingerprints are collected. These fingerprints can be captured at the nearest Huduma Centres, you can check out the nearest Huduma Centre in your town. They are then sent to DCI headquarters for cross-referencing against the national database.
For the renewal you need to pay the same amount paid during first application. Renewal of Good Conduct costs Kshs. 1,050 payable via M-PESA using the eCitizen Paybill number. We outline the entire procedure on how to renew the police clearance here in this post.
