Safaricom PLC has managed to make it easy for Kenyans to access their M-PESA mobile money transaction statements. Additionally, these come in handy especially when confirming payments that were done but never acknowledged. It also goes a long way to being used by banks to verify ownership of Safaricom phone numbers for individuals intending to change bank phone numbers. How does one request an M-PESA statement with your phone? The answer is in this article and there’s more than one way to do that.

By the end of this article, it will be easier to request an M-PESA statement just by using your phone. There are requirements to do that, however. These requirements will be outlined below so you make sure you have them before embarking on requesting Mpesa statement.

Requirements for Requesting an M-PESA Statement

Such requirements that you need to get an M-PESA statement are outlined below. Make sure you got one or have your statement with ease.

  • An active M-PESA registered sim card that has been transacting
  • The M-PESA shortcode *334# or *234# or M-PESA app
  • An active email address for receiving the statement

How to Request an M-PESA Statement using *334#

  • On your phone app or Dialer
  • Key in *334# and call the shortcode
  • On the new menu select My Account
  • Choose M-PESA statement and thereafter reply with M-PESA Statement
  • Select Request Statement then choose Option 1 Full Statement
  • Select the period for which you need the statement i.e. This Month, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, This Year, 12 months, and 2 years. There’s also an option for specific period.
  • Enter your E-mail Address to receive the M-PESA statement and repeat the same. If already requested before select the email you wish to use.
  • Key in your M-PESA PIN and wait for confirmation from Safaricom that the statement has been received. If it takes longer than usual you can repeat if you do not receive the confirmation of the M-PESA statement.

How to Request an M-PESA Statement using *234#

  • Dial *234#
  • Reply with M-PESA Information
  • Select M-PESA statement
  • Choose Request Statement
  • Choose the Full Statement option
  • Select the period you wish to request the statement for
  • Select the E-mail for receiving the statement or enter a new one if the one that exists isn’t yours.
  • Enter M-PESA PIN to confirm.
