List of 51 Loan Apps Approved by Central Bank in Kenya 2024

The Digital Lending ecosystem is filled with many apps offering loans to individuals and having higher interest rates than normal. Additionally, for data protection, the loan apps were reaching out to individuals without consent, and that prompted the intervention of the Central Bank of Kenya. Digital Lenders who mostly operate app-based loaning are required to comply with CBK guidelines. Many have applied but only 51 loan apps have been approved and given the okay to operate. In this article, we outlined the 51 loan apps approved by Central Bank to operate in 2024. Some apps were approved in 2023 and around 19 in the year 2024.

These apps have the okay to operate in Kenya having complied with the guidelines and also submitted the requisite documentation to CBK. Below is the list of the 51 loan apps operating in Kenya.
