Railway Training Institute Courses and Intakes

Railway Training Institute (RTI) is a Public Tertiary Institution under Kenya Railways in the Ministry of Roads and Transport. The institution offers training in RTI courses that cut across all qualifications (Craft Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma). The institute is registered as a TVET College by the Ministry of Education and below are the courses offered at the Railway Training Institute. The Railway Training Institute courses are spread out between the two campuses the institution has.

Application for admission to the Railway Training Institute courses is done online. You can check out how to apply here and also payment is done via M-PESA or bank (KCB). The courses range from Certificate to Diploma and also there are some KCSE open entry courses. There are also railways-based courses done at the Railway Training Institute.

The Railway Training Institute has 3 intakes in a year; January Intake, May Intake and September Intake.

The Entry qualification for these courses is a KCSE Open Entry or a D Minus

2. Grade 3, 2, & 1 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
3. Grade 3, 2, & 1 in Motor Vehicle Mechanics

• Visit the Institute website www.rti.ac.ke, on the home page, click the Apply Now Button that takes one to the Online Application Form and fill in the form, Attach the documents requested i.e. copy of the ID card, Birth Certificate, and Result slip/Certificate and SUBMIT after paying the 1000/ application fee.
