How to generate NHIF E-slip using NHIF Byproduct Portal

NHIF is the National Health Insurance Fund that allows corporates and other entities to submit monthly contributions for employed individuals. They offer treatment through the medical scheme under which employers on tribute for employees. Self-employed individuals pay for insurance to be able to access treatment. In this article, we focus on how to generate the NHIF E-slip using the byproduct portal.

Each company has an NHIF username or employer code used to access the byproduct’s page. Payment for monthly contributions made only after declaring the amount to pay and the means of payment. The NHIF allows employers out there, to be able to pay via M-PESA as well.

The institution has an NHIF Byproduct Portal which allows companies or institutions to prepare NHIF E-slips for payment of the contributions. In this article, we will be sharing how to generate such an NHIF Payment E-slip.

Requirements to Generate NHIF E-Slip

• NHIF Employer Code and NHIF Byproduct Portal password
• The Employer Name as registered with NHIF
• Names, ID Number, and Contribution amount per member

How to Generate NHIF Byproduct E-slip

The NHIF employer code is given by NHIF and any individual intending to submit monthly NHIF contributions for employees can visit their offices to get the employer code. A password usually generated at the office as well. The Byproduct Template can be downloaded from this link here.

1. Download the Byproduct Template and be sure to replace the information contained in the template with your information and member details.
2. Visit the NHIF Website and click on NHIF Byproduct or simply visit the portal directly through this link – https://payrollbyproduct.nhif.or.ke/byproduct/index.php
3. Click on Login on the portal and enter the Employer Code and NHIF password then click on the Login Button
4. Select the Upload File, which you would have saved in step 1 above. Noting the month for contribution then click on Submit.
5. The portal will populate the list of members. Click on Submit if satisfied and print the generated NHIF Byproduct E-slip. Note down the e-slip number.
